Carlo Ancelotti took charge of his 60th game with Real Madrid in the European Cup against Manchester City. This tally makes him the joint second coach of our club with the most games in this competition, equalling Vicente Del Bosque's total number of appearances. Only Miguel Muñoz, with 11 more games (71), surpasses the Italian's total.
Of these 60 matches, 43 have been wins, 8 draws and 9 defeats, which have seen him lift the European Cup twice as a madridista (2014 and 2022).
Ancelotti has always reached the semi-finals of this competition in his five seasons at our club. The Italian has made European football history and recently became the first coach to reach 200 appearances in the Champions League format. He is also the only manager to have won the European Cup four times.
