Eighth anniversary of club's 27th Copa del Rey basketball triumph
On 19 February 2017, the Whites won the trophy against Valencia Basket in Vitoria.
Today marks the eighth anniversary of Real Madrid’s 27th Copa del Rey basketball crown in Vitoria. The match was a very close encounter against Valencia Basket that was decided by just two points (97-95). It was the fourth consecutive Copa del Rey for Laso's troops, unprecedented in 34 years. Llull was the Madridista top scorer of the game (22 points) and the MVP of the edition.
On the road to clinching the trophy, the Whites eliminated Andorra in the quarter-finals (99-93), after a comeback and an overtime period. Then, in the semi-finals, they made it to the final by defeating the hosts, Baskonia, requiring another overtime (99-103).
