Tavares, named one of the 25 best players in Euroleague history
The centre joins Madrid players Llull, Sergio Rodríguez and Doncic on the list published every week by Europe's top competition.
Walter Tavares has been included in the list of the 25 best players in the history of the Euroleague, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The vote was carried out by fans, MVPs of previous seasons, members of the teams from the decades 2000-2010 and 2010-2020, winning coaches and the media. Tavares has won 2 Euroleagues with Real Madrid (2015 and 2023), he was MVP of the Final Four (2023), 3 times Best Defender (2019, 2021 and 2023) and another 3 times a member of the competition's Best Five (2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23).
In addition, the Madrid player is the all-time top blocker (463), leading the 2018/19 season and the last four (2020-2024). He was also the leading rebounder in 2020/21. The Cape Verdean centre joins a list that also includes his teammate Sergio Llull, the other Madrid legends Sergio Rodríguez and Doncic, Siskauskas, Spanoulis, De Colo, Vujcic, Mike James, Micic, Diamantidis, Anthony Parker, Bodiroga, Teodosic and Printezis.
