Musa named Euroleague MVP for January
The forward scored an average of 19.9 points and 22.1 PIR over the eight games Real Madrid played.
Dzanan Musa is Euroleague MVP for January. The Real Madrid player spearheaded the team to six wins in seven games last month, averaging 19.9 points and 22.1 PIR. In the historic win over Anadolu Efes after four overtimes, the forward broke the scoring record by a Real Madrid player in a Euroleague game with 40 points.
Real Madrid's impressive season is also evident on an individual level. Musa started the year very strongly and is the third player from our team to be named MVP of the month in the Euroleague after Campazzo in November and Hezonja in December, an unprecedented feat. The Bosnian is Real Madrid's top scorer with 13.6 points per game and a 41.1% success rate from three-point shots.
He put in some outstanding performances in January, such as against Anadolu Efes, when he was named MVP of the round, as well as in the victories against Barça (19 points, 5 three-pointers and 24 PIR), Olympiacos (20, 5 rebounds for 19) and Maccabi (19 and 25). He's also the youngest MVP of the month since Luka Doncic in October 2017.
