Chus Mateo: “We were competitive throughout”
“Scoring 107 points against Unicaja on their court is not easy,” said the coach after the victory.
Chus Mateo discussed Real Madrid’s victory at the Martín Carpena arena over Unicaja de Málaga. After his side’s matchday 24 clash, the coach had the following to say: “We played an intelligent game despite Unicaja playing very well. They were very effective from the perimeter, but I think that with our alternatives we managed to stop their offensive rhythm. Despite conceding 23 three-pointers, we still won the game. Sometimes, things go the way we thought they would.”
“We were patient and tenacious enough to endure moments of high scoring from the opposition. We managed to remain very solid on the rebound and we were able to move forward. Scoring 107 points against Unicaja is not easy.”

“This is an important victory on a difficult court and against a team that plays very good basketball. It was important to compete and we won the game because we were competitive throughout. We have a very tough week ahead of us because of the EuroLeague. We reserved Campazzo and Bruno Fernando had a knock, but we won. We have another win ahead of Unicaja, although it's not definitive.”
