The social sports school in Comayagua will reach 120 girls and boys in this first season, who will be educated in values through football, following the methodology of the Real Madrid Foundation For a Real education: values and sport. The Diunsa Foundation President Mario Faraj; Real Madrid Director of Institutional Relations Emilio Butragueño; Comayagua Mayor Carlos Miranda; Spanish Ambassador to Honduras Diego Nuño García; and Father Omar Iván Santos, presided over the inaugural event, held at the Carlos Miranda stadium, where the social sports school will take place.

Emilio Butragueño spoke of his satisfaction with the work being undertaken with their strategic partner in Honduras, the Diunsa Foundation, and expressed that "it's always a pleasure to visit this country", of which he has a special affection. Faraj said: "We're delighted to strengthen our presence in Comayagua through Diunsa Foundation's social investment, through a project that will benefit children and young people via sport. We're working closely with the Real Madrid Foundation, supported by the Municipality of Comayagua, which has welcomed us in the best possible way". Comayagua's Mayor, Carlos Miranda, thanked both foundations for their commitment to contribute to the social development of this city and reaffirmed their commitment to work together on this project.

Social sports schools
The Real Madrid Foundation signed a collaboration agreement with the Diunsa Foundation in September 2011 aimed at the development and implementation of social sports schools in Honduras. The project inaugurated in Comayagua brings the number of schools implemented in the country to four, benefiting over 620 children and young people. The project contributes to the integral education of Honduran children and young people who are at risk of social exclusion, by means of a training programme in values through sports, which is complimented by regular medical check-ups, computer courses and nutritional support.
