In collaboration with BRMatters and supported by Banco Afirme, Graftech International and HEB, the Real Madrid Foundation's first inclusive Educational Football Program has been inaugurated in Nuevo León (Mexico). The event was attended by Martha Herrera González, Nuevo León's Secretary for Equality and Inclusion, and she handed out 100 state sports scholarships for young people.
The Educational Football Program was set up to provide one year's free football training (two 90-minute sessions per week), and is designed to strengthen the participants' physical, mental and social development. The program will include specialist training sessions led by a Spanish coach, who will implement the methodology and values of the Real Madrid Foundation.

The Real Madrid Foundation's inclusive sports programs promote group practice and underline the importance of team sport in helping people with different abilities to gain independence. They are aimed at young people with and without disabilities (Down Syndrome, developmental disorders, intellectual disabilities and those on the autistic spectrum). This program benefits over 250 participants in its initial phase, 125 of whom will be supported by the Equality and Social Inclusion Ministry through their community centres and AMAR NL.

Free of charge
The benefits of this initiative, offered free of charge, extend to providing all the necessary tools for the participants' personal and sporting growth, promoting educational values, healthy habits and comprehensive well-being, in an attempt to encourage a wholesome and fulfilling youth. The Real Madrid Foundation runs some 30 inclusive and adapted football and basketball schools in Spain, having also set up projects in Morocco and Colombia on an international level.
