The Real Madrid Foundation and GSK have signed a new partnership agreement at a ceremony hosted at Real Madrid City, reiterating their joint commitment to promoting healthy habits and helping to improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable. The partnership, which was launched in 2018, has been consolidated over the years as an example of how sport and health can come together to generate a significant impact on society.
Among the key projects developed under this agreement are the tailored social sports schools in collaboration with the Ana Carolina Díez-Mahou Foundation. Through these scholarships, children with neuromuscular and respiratory ailments can engage in adapted sports, benefiting not only from physical activity but also from an environment that motivates them and improves their emotional well-being.
Real Madrid's Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, said: ‘Sport and health share essential values such as discipline, effort and self-improvement. This partnership is proof that we are stronger together and can bring about real changes in people's lives.
Alongside projects with children, the alliance has been extended to raise awareness and prevent health problems in society in general. Fundamental pillars of this collaboration have been initiatives such as campaigns on adult immunisation, healthy ageing and disease prevention.
GSK Spain President Cristina Henriquez de Luna added: "This agreement is a reflection of our shared vision to build a healthier and more inclusive society. We have shown that the union of sport and health can go further, breaking down barriers and making a real difference.
Through this renewal, the Real Madrid Foundation and GSK reaffirm their commitment to continue working on projects that promote inclusion, prevention and awareness, in the belief that the combination of sport and health is a winning formula for building a better future.
