The Foundation's schools in India hold the third Copa Alma
140 children from eight schools got together in Tiruchirapalli to enjoy football and promote its values.
The Real Madrid Foundation has held the third edition of its Copa Alma in India, which this year was hosted in the city of Tiruchirapalli. Some 140 children were involved from the country's eight social sports schools run in collaboration with the Hope and Joy Foundation, local partners the We Care Center and Tiruchirapalli Multipurpose Social Society Service (TMSSS), and the Institute for Indian Mother and Child (IIMC), supported by Roadis.
This year's hosts, the TMSSS, welcomed 10 teams of kids aged between 12 and 14 from across the country. The tournament format, which alternated between boys, girls and mixed groups, was focused around encouraging the participation of girls, who were boosted by the incredible support of their teammates. The competition concluded with 10 values awards being presented, acknowledging the participants' exemplary conduct.
The tournament was preceded by a training course taught by the Real Madrid Foundation for 11 coaches, who all benefitted from exchanging experiences and what was a hugely positive all-round get-together.
