The Foundation's schools in India hold the 4th Alma Cup
160 children from 10 social sports schools met in Kanjirapalli (Kerala) to enjoy football and learn from its values.

The Real Madrid Foundation has organised the fourth edition of the Alma India Cup, which on this occasion was held in the city of Kanjirapalli, Kerala. 160 children from the 10 social sports schools that operate in the country took part, in collaboration with the Esperanza y Alegría Foundation; the local partners We Care Center and Tiruchirapalli Multipurpose Social Society Service (TMSSS), and the Indian Institute of Mothers and Children (IIMC) and KHUSHII, the latter two with the support of ROADIS.
This year, the host was the We Care Center, which welcomed 12 teams of boys and girls aged between 10 and 15 from different states of the country. The tournament format, which alternates between girls‘, boys’ and mixed competitions, allows the girls to find a fun sporting environment in which they feel safe and supported by their teammates. The competition ended with the awarding of 12 prizes in values in recognition of the good behaviour of the participants.
The tournament was preceded by a training course given by the Real Madrid Foundation for 11 coaches who, following the Foundation's methodology, For a Real Education: Values and Sport, had the opportunity to exchange experiences to share their concerns, transmit values during training and enjoy a few days of togetherness.
The Foundation's social sports schools in India focus on promoting the enrolment of participants in education. In addition to sports, the programme includes different educational and social activities adapted to the needs of the beneficiaries: distribution of food supplements, after-school support classes, medical check-ups and workshops on healthy lifestyle habits.
