Ancelotti attends Universidad Europea Real Madrid Graduate School 2024/25 inauguration
"I have worked for several elite-level clubs and Real Madrid is the biggest in the world in terms of history, organisation and expectations," underlined the Italian coach.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti and the club's Director of Institutional Relations and Director General of the Universidad Europea Real Madrid Graduate School, Emilio Butragueño, were tasked with raising the curtain on the 2024/25 academic year at the Real Madrid City auditorium. Also in attendance to inaugurate the 19th year of the project were Elena Gazapo, Dean of the Universidad Europea, Marisa Sáenz, Managing Director of the Universidad Europea Real Madrid Graduate School, Miguel Pardeza and Manolo Sanchís, director of postgraduate programs for the Universidad Europea Real Madrid Graduate School, Álvaro Arbeloa and Santiago Solari.
Following a video looking back at Ancelotti's time at Real Madrid and taking in his 14 trophies at the helm of our club, the Italian took the microphone: “I'd like to wish the best of luck to the students about to set out on this incredible experience, I hope it'll be an unforgettable year. If your work is driven by passion, it's far easier to do it. I'm lucky enough to do a job that I don't consider work because I enjoy it."
A winning club
“Throughout its history Real Madrid has won so much, and continues to win, because they do not like to lose or even draw. There are clubs that accept defeat in a way Real Madrid does not. That increases the demands and the responsibility of the people who work for this club:"
The key to success
“I have worked for several elite-level clubs and Real Madrid is the biggest in the world in terms of history, organisation and expectations... You quickly realize that the most important thing here is success on a sporting level. The president has done a fantastic job, the club keeps winning thanks to the work he has done."
Extraordinary atmosphere
“Real Madrid is a family, we spend a lot of our time here and that atmosphere helps you give the best you have to offer. On a personal level, I prefer working as part of a family. You feel that every day you come into work here."
La Décima
“I had faith that we could do it. You have to keep that faith until the final second. When we scored the goal, I was convinced we'd go on and win it, it was hugely important psychologically."
Butragueño: “We're going to experience this wonderful adventure together”
Emilio Butragueño welcomed the students of the Universidad Europea Real Madrid Graduate School: “It's a pleasure to welcome you to Real Madrid City. This is where our teams train and it's the place where values have been instilled that make us the most beloved club in the world."
“We admire people with character, those who never give in, those who think big. Winners who lead others to heights that would be unthinkable for most. We want those values to be present in the day-to-day running of our school. That is an enormous responsibility for us, and we are going to experience this wonderful adventure together."
Elena Gazapo: “The shared values of two leading institutions have helped us consolidate this project”
“The shared values of two leading institutions, like Real Madrid and the Universidad Europea, have helped us consolidate this university project. We couldn't have hoped for any better start than to have Carlo Ancelotti here. I'd like to thank him for sharing this moment with our students. This year, you will be working alongside more than 1,600 students from over 100 different countries."
Following a conversation between Ancelotti and Butragueño attended by the school's new pupils, there was also a chance for them to pose their questions to the madridista coach. The course opening ceremony then concluded with the traditional family photo.
