Five years without Lorenzo Sanz
On 21 March 2020, the former president of Real Madrid from 1995 to 2000 passed away. During his time in charge, the club won two European Cups, one Intercontinental Cup, one league title, one Spanish Super Cup, one basketball league title and one European Cup Winners' Cup.

On 21 March 2020, Madrid fans said goodbye to Lorenzo Sanz, club president from 1995 to 2000. During his presidency, Real Madrid won the long-awaited seventh European Cup in an unforgettable final against Juventus. Mijatovic scored the goal in Amsterdam which saw us win the continental title 32 years later.
It was on 20 May 1998 that the Seventh European Cup was won and two years later, in 2000, Real Madrid won their Eighth European Cup in Paris, reclaiming its rightful place in history. During the five years of Lorenzo Sanz's presidency, our club continued to enhance its legend. In addition to the two European Cups, they won an Intercontinental Cup, a League, a Spanish Super Cup, a Basketball League and a Basketball Cup Winners' Cup.
