Today marks 119 years since the club's second Spanish Cup
On 10 April 1906, Real Madrid got the better of Athletic Club with a 4-1 win.

Today is the 119th anniversary of Real Madrid's second Copa de España success. On 10 April 1906, our team retained the title they have clinched in the previous campaign with a 4-1 victory over Athletic Club. Giralt and Revuelto struck the game's first goals, before the Basque outfit hit back on the stroke of half-time. After the restart, Parages and Alonso made sure of the result to hand the madridistas the cup.
The tournament was hosted at the Madrid Hippodrome, and saw our team beat Recreativo de Huelva 3-0 in the opening game. The success meant the second of four successive titles for the club between 1905 and 1908. Real Madrid have now won the competition on 20 occasions throughout their history.
