Today marks 54 years since Real Madrid’s 11th Copa de España crown. The Whites took on Valencia, in a match played at the Camp Nou. Goals from Pirri and Vicente Jara from the penalty spot ensured parity at half-time, but after the re-start the Whites won the game with goals from Planelles and Fleitas.

On their way to the Camp Nou final, the madridistas overcame Castellón, Las Palmas, Barcelona and Athletic Club over two legs. The team was coached by Miguel MuñozAmancio was Madrid's top scorer in that edition with six goals.
