Today marks 57 years since Real Madrid won their tenth basketball league title. On 24 March 1968, our team made mathematically sure they would be champions with two games to spare after beating Picadero away from home (48-53). The team coached by Pedro Ferrándiz won their tenth league title in the first 12 editions of the competition, capping off a historic season as they also lifted their fourth European Cup.
Real Madrid finished top of the eleven-team league table with 18 wins from 20 games and were two wins ahead of Estudiantes and Joventut. Clifford Luyk was the top scorer in that edition with 486 points and an average of 24.3 per game.
