On 13 March 1966, our team got their hands on the trophy when they beat Barcelona in the final game of the season (61-77.) The madridistas ended the campaign with one more win than second-placed Picadero, taking 16 victories in 18 games.
This was Real Madrid's seventh successive title, extending their dominance which saw them win nine of the first ten editions. The squad coached by Robert Busnel completed the double that season, having also lifted their tenth Copa de España with victory over Joventut.
