Today marks 11 years since Real Madrid won its 24th basketball Copa del Rey. On February 9, 2014, our team defeated Barça in a historic final with a winning basket by Llull in the final second (76-77). This cup win would be the first of four in a row for the team coached by Laso.
The Martín Carpena stadium in Málaga witnessed one of the most exciting finales in the competition's history. Madrid were leading by seven points with two minutes to go, but Barça turned the game on its head and went into the final seconds one point ahead(76-75). In the last play, Sergio Rodríguez penetrated and doubled the ball to Llull, who scored the decisive shot from the edge of the zone for 76-77. On their way to the title, Real Madrid defeated Gran Canaria 83-60 in the quarter-finals and Zaragoza 98-66 in the semi-finals.
