67 years ago today, Real Madrid lifted their second Latin Cup. On 23 June 1957, José Villalonga's team clinched the trophy after defeating Benfica in the final (1-0) courtesy of a goal by Alfredo Di Stéfano. On the road to the final, the Madridistas had beaten Milan in the semi-final, which was played Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
 
By winning this trophy, Real Madrid rounded off an excellent 1956/57 campaign, in which they also won the league and their second European Cup. They were also champions of the last edition of the Latin Cup. In 1955, The Whites also won this international trophy, which featured the best teams from France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.
