Di María opened the scoring in the opening minutes and Bartra made it 1-1 for the Blaugranas in the 65th minute. The big moment of that match came with five minutes to go. A spectacular run by Bale led to the goal that decided the match and the title.
They had won the nineteenth Copa del Rey, Carlo Ancelotti's first trophy as Madrid coach. On their way to the title, Real Madrid beat Olímpic de Xàtiva, Osasuna, Espanyol and Atlético de Madrid.
