The road to the Champions League semi-finals for the European champions requires a comeback at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium from the 3-0 defeat by Arsenal in the first leg of the quarter-finals. Nothing else will do. The players are fully aware of this and have made it clear they will go all the way this evening. The Madrid fans are also fully aware of what is at stake and will be in full voice to fuel the famous mystique of a stadium that has been the centre of many memorable European nights.

It is all about creating another magical night in the stadium - this time it’s against Arsenal (9 pm CEST). Real Madrid go into the clash on the back of a win on Sunday in Vitoria courtesy of a goal by Camavinga and playing with ten men for more than half an hour. This was the best way to prepare for tonight's game and at the end, Ceballos, who returned from injury, was very explicit: "We need the players to give their 100% and we need a passionate crowd, who believe like we believe. We’re be waiting for you and we need you more than ever."

The harmony between the team and the fans in the search for a comeback is abundantly clear. Ancelotti echoed the sentiment. “We have all the resources we need to turn this tie around,” said the Italian coach in the press conference ahead of the clash. Meanwhile, Bellingham said: “We are excited about making a comeback”. The Real Madrid boss has named his squad, which does not include the suspended Camavinga.

Arsenal
The Premier League side go into this evening's match on the back of Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Brentford. In doing so, they have now extended their unbeaten run to nine games (4 wins and 5 draws). The Gunners' away record is just as impressive: they have lost just one of their last 15 matches (8 wins). Havertz, who is injured, is the top scorer for the London side with 15 goals. He is followed by Saka (10 goals).
