Ceballos: “We're very happy to go top but we must continue to win games”
“It's been a long time since I've seen a player make as much of a difference as Mbappé” said the midfielder.

Dani Ceballos capped an excellent performance against UD Las Palmas and was given a standing ovation by the Bernabéu when he was replaced by Chema in the 83rd minute. The midfielder highlighted the importance of this victory: “The victory was important for us, especially having seen yesterday's results and knowing that we have a (Madrid) derby in two or three weeks' time. After their goal, we gained confidence and pushed on. It was one of the most complete performances of the season. We’re very happy to go top but we must continue to win games.
“It's been a long time since I've seen a player make as much of a difference on the pitch as Mbappé. This is the Kylian we had seen before. He was on fire and seemed like a cartoon character. It takes time to settle in. He has gone from strength to strength and has been a game-changer for us. We have to keep working and enjoy the victory”.
Standing ovation when substituted
“The level of the team has given me confidence and I’m very pleased with my level of performance. Criticism can be turned around by working hard and I thank the fans for their support. That's what I've always done. I've waited for my moment and I want to keep working to bring joy to the Bernabéu.
Alaba's return
“It's the best news today, apart from the victory. He can give us a lot and it’s very important for us that he is available. He’s a leader and a fundamental player. I'm very happy he's back.
Reaction after the Spanish Super Cup final
“You can understand the criticism after losing. Image is important and it was a tough defeat against Barcelona. We analysed the game as a group and we’ve taken a step forward by working hard and winning. The team is getting better and little by little we’re getting more compact and more confident. We have to prove this in the coming matches. When a team wins so much, winning is the minimum for us”.
The three disallowed goals and Simeone's comments
“The referee had a great match and he didn’t have an impact on the game. El Cholo has not yet come to terms with the two Champions League finals he lost to Real Madrid”.
