Courtois: "It wasn't our best performance, but we're through"
"It'll be different against Arsenal because they're a possession-based side who play a more open game," said the goalkeeper.

Thibaut Courtois spoke to the press following Real Madrid's qualification for the Champions League quarter-finals: “Courtois: "It wasn't our best performance, but we're through. Penalties are a lottery and the most important thing was to qualify. They had a lot of dangerous counter attacks and we didn't play very well, but we're into the next round. It'll be different against Arsenal because they're a possession-based side who play a more open game."
“We didn't start well. They made life much more difficult for us by going 1-0 up. I thought they'd try and make it 2-0, but they opted to defend and it worked for them because Oblak didn't have a save to make. In the end, penalties are a lottery."
The shootout
“We talked before the penalties and we discussed them during the week. Sorloth always changed where he puts them. Against Getafe he went to the left and I thought he'd change it up but he didn't. I wasn't sure about Julián, but I didn't think he'd go down the middle, but he went for it again. I knew Correa was going to the right and I got a hand to it but couldn't keep it out. And with Llorente I didn't have the information, but I remembered he used to go right in training. He struck it well, absolutely smashed it, but it came back off the bar."
Julián Álvarez's penalty
“I told the referee Julián had touched the ball twice. It's not easy to see it, but it's a bit of bad luck. Just like with Correa's kick, I got a good hand to it but just not enough to keep it out."
