Florentino Pérez receives the Globe Soccer Award for the best club president of all time
"It's a great honour to be at the helm of the world's most loved and admired sporting institution," said the president.
Real Madrid and our club president took centre stage at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards ceremony, which was held in Dubai. Florentino Pérez, who has now won 65 titles since he became president of the club in 2000, received the Globe Soccer Award for the best president of all time.
After receiving the award, he said in his speech: "First of all, I would like to thank the Globe Soccer Awards and the Dubai Sports Council for this double acknowledgement, the one that I receive and the one that Real Madrid receives as the best club of the season. It's something that I regard as a token of affection from all the members of the organisation of this prestigious award."
"Since I became president of Real Madrid in 2000, I've always said that it is a great honour to be at the helm of the world's most loved and admired sporting institution. And all I have done is work to ensure that this club continues to be in the place it belongs because of its history and because of what it represents for millions of people around the world."
"I also thank you for the award given to Real Madrid for what it has achieved in a year that has once again been historic and unforgettable for all madridistas. This year will be remembered for our fifteenth European Cup, in which the Whites have won five titles: the Champions League, LaLiga, the Spanish Super Cup, the European Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, which is our ninth title as world champions."
"Therefore, this award is also for the players, for our coach and for all those who are part of Real Madrid and, of course, for a fan base that now has more than 600 million followers on social networks, and which is the best in the world. Congratulations to all the award winners and thank you very much."
