The Santiago Bernabéu held a minute's silence before the match between Real Madrid and Girona in memory of Miguel Ángel, one of the greatest goalkeepers in our history and both a club and Spanish football legend, who passed away on 6 February. In addition, a banner with his image was unfurled and the players wore black armbands.
Miguel Ángel wore the Real Madrid shirt for eighteen seasons, from 1968 to 1986, and won two UEFA Cups, eight LaLiga titles, five Spanish Cups and one La Liga Cup. In the 1975-1976 season he won the Zamora Trophy.
