Luka Modrić is celebrating his 39th birthday today. The midfielder was born in Zadar (Croatia) on 9 September 1985 and since joining Real Madrid in the 2012/13 campaign he has gone on to become the most decorated player in the club's history with 27 trophies: 6 European Cups, 5 Club World Cups, 5 European Super Cups, 4 LaLiga titles, 2 Copas del Rey and 5 Spanish Super Cups.
His performances for Real Madrid and the Croatian National Team have helped him win the most prestigious individual awards as well, seeing him named Ballon d'Or and FIFA The Best in 2018. Our captain has been a madridista for 13 seasons, making 539 appearances and scoring 39 goals.
