The LaLiga matchday 23 derby ended all square. Brahim made it 1-0 in the 21st minute and when it looked like the league leaders were going to secure a deserved victory, Marcos Llorente equalised with a header in the 93rd minute. Our team are still two points ahead of second-placed Girona, who visit the Santiago Bernabéu next Saturday.

Real Madrid dominated the derby from the off and their control of the game began to produce a number of dangerous moves. The first came three minutes in when Brahim's shot from the edge of the area was saved by Oblak. The forward's second chance was quite different. He linked up with Lucas Vázquez with 21 minutes on the clock and after a string of deflections, he was able to get in front of the Atletico keeper and finish calmly and with class in a one-on-one. It was 1-0 and Simeone's side reacted with a double chance two minutes later. Riquelme delivered and Lunin did well to turn Witsel's header behind for a corner. From the subsequent corner, Savić's header sailed just wide of the target.

Penalties calls for Bellingham
The second half opened with Savić's goal ruled out from a corner disallowed after Saúl was caught offside in front of Lunin when the centre-back headed the ball home in the 48th minute. The clock ticked down and, in the 59th minute, Real Madrid appealed for a penalty for a challenge off the ball by Savić on Bellingham. Five minutes later, Rodrygo was on the end of a swift counter-attack, but Oblak came out on top.

Our side continued to seek to extend the lead and could have done so in the 70th minute through a spectacular move from Brahim, who beat Hermoso with a beautiful bit of skill and then Witsel with a dummy, but his shot went just wide. Ancelotti's side were the better side, but the score was still too little and Lunin was again well placed to deal with Griezmann's back-heeled effort in the 76th minute. Four minutes later, following a corner from Kroos, Llorente grabbed Bellingham in the box with both arms, but Sánchez Martínez did not award a penalty. In the last minute of stoppage time, Llorente headed home to level the derby.
