Real Madrid win in Bilbao

Real Madrid returned to action in LaLiga with a win in Bilbao. Our team picked up their eleventh league win, their third in a row. They beat Athletic Club at Lezama thanks to a goal by Feller before half-time. Athenea missed a penalty in the second half, but Toril's team managed to hold on for the win.
Despite the intensity of both teams on the pitch in the first half, neither managed to trouble their opponents' goal seriously enough. It was not until the 43rd minute that Real Madrid showed their effectiveness, taking the lead with the first clear chance they had. A fast counter-attack led by Feller who, after combining with Oihane, made it 1-0.

Alberto Toril's side could have extended their lead on the hour mark. Nanclares brought down Athenea in the box and the referee pointed to the spot, but the Athletic Club goalkeeper saved the Cantabrian's spot kick. Shortly afterwards, Linda tried her luck with a high shot from the edge of the area. Zornoza also tried her luck in the 82nd minute, but her right-footed shot failed to find the target and went just over the crossbar. In the end, the madridistas held off the home side's attacks to claim another league victory in Bilbao.
