Elvir Baljić moved to Real Madrid from Fenerbahçe in the summer of 1999. He was a left-footed forward with great ball skills and the ability to dribble. The Bosnian international formed part of our club for three seasons, winning two European Cups: la Octava in Paris against Valencia and la Novena in Glasgow against Bayer Leverkusen.
A serious knee injury marred his spell at Real Madrid. After finishing at our club and being loaned to Rayo Vallecano for the second half of his last season, Baljić returned to Turkish football, where he played until his retirement in 2008.
