Position: Defender
Real Madrid appearances: 364

Nacho Fernández is one of Real Madrid's most legendary players. Over the course of 23 years at the club, he was the embodiment of the values of madridismo and became, alongside Luka Modrić, the most decorated player in Real Madrid history (26 trophies).

He rose through every rank of the club's academy, having arrived in 2001 at just 10 years of age. It is there he built his character, turning into a solid defender capable of playing in any position across the back-line. His official first-team debut came on 23 April 2011, in a LaLiga clash with Valencia. He would go on to make a total of 364 madridista appearances.

Following 12 hugely successful seasons, Nacho brought a close to his time at Real Madrid in dream-like fashion: lifting the European Cup as captain of his boyhood club. Winning La Decimoquinta at Wembley also saw him become one of the few players ever to have won 6 European Cups in football history. Nacho played a key role in that Champions League campaign, scoring from the spot in the epic penalty shootout as Real Madrid came past Manchester City in the quarter-finals.

A full Spanish international, he was also crowned champion of the Euro U21 and the Nations League with his country during his time at Real Madrid.
