Academy graduate right-back in the historic team that won La Novena

Playing position: Defender
Real Madrid appearances: 37

Óscar Miñambres' exemplary career in the Real Madrid academy has seen him go down in the history of the club, rising through the ranks to make the squad that clinched the ninth European Cup. Despite making his debut in a Copa del Rey clash in Toledo in December of 2000 at 19 years old, it was the following season when he really started to make an impression in the first team.

In the historic 2001/02 campaign, he switched between Castilla and Vicente Del Bosque's team, playing four games on the way to the European title won in Glasgow against Bayer Leverkusen. Throughout his time as a madridista, he shared the right-back spot with the legendary Míchel Salgado, making his most appearances in 2002/03 as the team won three titles (European Super Cup, Intercontinental Cup and LaLiga). In the summer of 2004 he went on loan to Espanyol, but bad luck with injuries stunted his career. Ultimately, he retired in 2007 at just 26 years of age.
