Official Announcement: Juan Miguel Villar Mir passes away

Real Madrid C. F., its president and its board of directors would like to express their deepest regrets at the passing of Juan Miguel Villar Mir, and their condolences to his family and loved ones.
 
Juan Miguel Villar Mir was vice-president of Real Madrid in 1995, during the presidency of Ramón Mendoza, and in 2006 he stood as a candidate for election to the club's presidency. He was a member of Real Madrid for 43 years, dating back to September 1981. He was Real Madrid's 10,661st member.

Juan Miguel Villar Mir held a doctorate in civil engineering, a degree in law and a professorship. He was a businessman and a leading academic in Spain's recent history, who also held positions as vice-president for Economic Affairs and minister of Finance in the Spanish Government between 1975 and 1976.
Juan Miguel Villar Mir has passed away at the age of 92. May he rest in peace.
