Castilla unable to close the season with a win

Real Madrid Castilla ended the 2023-24 season with a defeat against Málaga. The Madrid reserve team bid farewell to the Alfredo Di Stéfano until next season with a match in which they deserved more. Ferreiro's opening goal (15') was countered by Álvaro with a header (33'), but the visiting striker scored his brace in the 69' to give his team the three points. Raúl's team had good chances, but the rival goalkeeper prevented our team from achieving a deserved a draw.

The match started with a few first minutes of tentative play. Castilla, well positioned, did not allow Malaga to find space and played the ball in the center of the field. With the first quarter of an hour gone, the visitors took the lead with their first goal of the game. Ferreiro scored with a shot from the baseline that hit the post before entering Fran's goal.

Our team's reply came soon after. A great team move culminated in a shot from Manuel Ángel, only for his attempt to be blocked by Herrero. The goalkeeper again prevented Raúl's team from equalizing, this time keeping out Palacios. But in 33', Álvaro did manage to make it 1-1 with a header. The Uruguayan came close to scoring the second but was unable to come out on top in the one-on-one after a great run from his own half.

Chances
The second half resumed with the same intensity. After a couple of attacks from Castilla, who once again found Herrero, the rival managed to approach the home area with danger again. Ferreiro unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the area, but Fran prevented the goal with a great save on his debut for Castilla. However, the striker did manage to beat the Madrid goalkeeper in 69' to make it 2-1. In the end, our team failed to pick up any points in the last match of the season.
