Toril: "We're excited and eager to put on a good display"
"It's a great opportunity to win the first trophy with this club," Weir.
Alberto Toril and Caroline Weir spoke to the press on the eve of the Spanish Super Cup final clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque (Sunday, 12:00 pm CET). The coach reflected: “It's a great game for the fans. It's a good one for us too, to compete, it's a final. We haven't played too many games like this so we're going to enjoy ourselves and try and play well. We're excited and eager to put on a good display. I believe we have the ability and I'm sure we're going to see a good spectacle."
“Our improvements have been largely mental, we're more competitive every day. I think that's been the case over these last four or five years. We've improved significantly and the results reflect that. We're moving along the right track. When we go up against tough opposition, we try and give our best in every sense. Against Barça we've had several games where we've done a really good job, and others where we haven't been so good. We're eager to perform well, we're ready. We've tried to make sure the players recover well and the energy levels are good. I believe we'll make life difficult for them tomorrow.”
Weir: “We're ready, we're excited”
“We have a really important game tomorrow and I'm hugely excited. It's our first Super Cup final and I want to win it. We're ready, we're excited."
“I'm really happy in this team, it's a great fixture and a good opportunity to win our first title for the club. That's the most important thing for me. I feel good after the injury. I'm thrilled to be back with the team and play big games. The most important thing is to do the best I can."
