Seventh anniversary of club's 27th Copa del Rey basketball crown
On 19 February 2017, the Whites clinched the trophy against Valencia Basket in Vitoria.
It is seven years since Real Madrid clinched their 27th Copa del Rey basketball crown in Vitoria. The final against Valencia Basket was a very close affair that was decided by just two points (97-95). It was the fourth consecutive Copa del Rey for Laso's charges, something that had not been achieved for 34 years. Llull was Madrid's top scorer of the game (22 points) and the MVP of the edition.
On the road to the trophy, the Whites knocked out Andorra in the quarter-finals (99-93), after a comeback and overtime. Then, in the semi-finals, they booked their place in the final by defeating the hosts, Baskonia, requiring another overtime (99-103).
