Leo Beenhakker, Real Madrid’s historic coach who managed the team between 1986 and 1989, and in 1992, died on 10 April at the age of 82. Mario Vargas Llosa, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, who was director of the Real Madrid Universidad Europea Chair, died on 13 April at the age of 89. The players wore black armbands.
