Today marks 63 years since the 8th LaLiga title
On 18 March 1962, Real Madrid clinched the title when they beat Mallorca at home (2-0).

On this day 63 years ago, Real Madrid's football team got their hands on an eighth LaLiga title. With two games left before the end of the season, our team made mathematically certain of victory with a 2-0 home win over Mallorca thanks to goals for Di Stéfano and Del Sol. The success saw Real Madrid retain the trophy they had won the previous year.
The team coached by Miguel Muñoz finished the 1961/62 league campaign with a three-point advantage over Barcelona. They conceded the fewest goals in the competition, seeing goalkeeper Araquistain win the Zamora Trophy, and Puskas was the team's top scorer with 20 goals. The title was the second of eight successive league triumphs for Real Madrid during the 1960s.
